Wiki snippet for Vims snipMate

I have to edit some code for a wiki. For Latex, Vim-Latex is a great help writing the stuff in my favourite editor, Vim. But it do not fits all my needs for editing Wikis, of course. That is why I have written a short snippet for the snipMate plugin: Wikipedia.snippets. You have to add this i.e. to your local vimrc directory: ~/.vim/snippets/ . The shortcuts are similar to the ones used in Vim-Latex. Please note: I add a snippet when I need it. So the file is really not complete or even finished!
On Wikipedia you can find a help page with basic instructions using Vim for editing Wiki text.

Installing the Latex Suite for Vim on a Debian Squeeze system

I have got some issues when installing the Debian package for Vims Latex Suite. Finally, it is working now. Using the Vim Addon Manager instead of adding the plugin manually was the solution.

Combining the advantages of Open Office, Gnuplot and Latex with CSV

I have had to write a record containing some tables and use this for table calculation, gnuplot and latex. So I decided to create a Open Office spreadsheets, export to csv and then convert this file to a Latex includable snippet. Thus a small bash shell script converting csv-files to Latex was needed.

Backup several typo3 installations

Today I want to give some hints at creating a working backup of a typo3 installation.
Installing an additional typo3 extension can obviously be a good possibility if you have to backup just one or two setups. There seem to be a few really handy ones. But in my case this would be very ineffective. First, you have to install another extension for every running typo3. Then doing the saving stuff on console can have some advantages like cron tabbing etc. That is why I decided to do it “by hand”.

Establashing a VPN tunnel with VPNC on an Debian 5.0 amd64 system

Last night I had to connect to an Cisco VPN server for the first time. All my computers use 64 bit operating systems. And this fact excludes using the original Cisco VPN client in its actual 5.0.01 version: It supports 32 bit only.
So I will show how to install and use the VPNC on the example connecting to the HTW Dresden.

Prüfungszeit

So ganz kann ich es noch gar nicht glauben, aber es ist schon wieder soweit: Die Prüfungszeit kommt bedrohlich nah. Doch dieses Jahr stehen auch noch einige Versuche bei verschiedenen Praktika an. Das heißt für mich: Vor den heimische Computer und Hefter zurückziehen, den Winter vom warmen Zimmer aus beobachten und alle außeruniversitären Aktivitäten auf ein absolutes Minimum reduzieren. Meine letzte Prüfung habe ich am 6. März.

Bereits zum 6. Mal fand dieses Jahr der Linux Info Tag an der TU Dresden statt. Immer Anfang November deckt diese liebevoll organisierte Veranstaltung mit zahlreichen Vorträgen und Workshops gekonnt die doch so verschiedenen Interessenprofile von Einsteigern bis zu Fortschrittenen ab.

Dieses Wochenende (7. und 8. November) fand das 1. Energieforum in der momentan stark bebauten HTW Dresden statt. Die von der nach eigenen Aussagen studentischen AIESEC organisierte Veranstaltung wurde im Voraus stark beworben, begann jedoch leider mehr als holprig.
